Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was just 272 words and only took a few minutes to say, but that speech became a huge part of our history. Most of us learned the Gettysburg Address in our American History class and our children will probably do the same. Those words expressed the meaning, value and price of freedom, declaring that we are one country and one people. Those were inspiring words from an inspiring man.
A tall man, Lincoln was also strong and great with an axe. Even beyond the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln was and is a huge historical figure. There are countless books, movies and TV specials about his life. Even a book and movie portraying him as a vampire slayer! He was a father, a husband, a son, a United States President…he was a definitely a “tough guy.â€
Another famous American is Chuck Norris. He is a martial artist, author, actor…and just a “tough guy.†Like Abe, Chuck also has a beard. He has a large group of followers…literally 206,000+ Facebook followers. He’s been on TV and in movies, and have you heard of Total Gym? Yep, that’s Chuck Norris’ lean, mean, workout machine!
Let’s take a second to talk about Chuck Norris…
When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down. When life hands Chuck Norris lemons, he makes orange juice. Chuck Norris does not sleep, he waits. When Chuck Norris does division, there are no remainders. Chuck Norris’ cat has 10 lives. Chuck Norris wasn’t born a baby, he was born a man.
Both of these men come from different times and backgrounds, but both are Americans and are well-known in our world today. If these two men were to fight it out in an epic rap battle, who do you think would win?
See them battle it out, and let us know who you think won!
